FedRAMP was enacted in June 2011 and is mandatory for Federal Agency cloud deployments and service models at the low and moderate risk impact levels in accordance with the Federal Information Processing Standard 199. Federal Agencies have until June 2014 to ensure that their cloud service providers meet FedRAMP requirements. FedRAMP requires all Cloud Service Providers applying to FedRAMP to undergo security control testing, including penetration testing, says Laura Taylor, eGlobalTech FedRAMP Program Manager.
