eGlobalTech President Leads Healthcare Information Sharing Pilot
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Vienna, VA - September 22, 2008
Sonya Jain, President of eGlobalTech, is leading the Healthcare Information Sharing Pilot. This Pilot is being run by the Industry Advisory Council's (IAC) Enterprise Architecture Shared Interest Group. The goal of this Pilot is to accumulate information about both private and public health-care initiatives to find best practices and lessons learned to share with the Federal Health Agencies.
Kicking off the Pilot, Ms. Jain provided the need for information gathering and analysis of the existing industry, its trends and initiatives. The group defined its purpose and built on a strategy that embraced data collection and analysis using criteria such as Initiative Trends, Funding Trends, Initiative Leaders, Challenges, Successes, Stove-piping and Technology and Standards.
Initial findings have presented the workgroup with answers to questions resulting in a better understanding of the challenges the health care industry faces. One such challenge includes the lack of technology standards and its direct affect in slowing down the adoption rate of IT health systems. Another observation embraces Personal Healthcare Records (PHR) in that PHR means different things to different people because there is not a universally accepted definition.
These are just a couple of examples of the wealth of knowledge that has been gathered by the workgroup in its efforts to achieve the goal to improve government through the sharing of information.
